REDUCED RATE & SERVICE CHARGE TRANSPORTATION
ON OTHER AIRLINES


In addition to your HA Pass Travel, HA has reciprocal agreements, also known as reduced rate or interline agreements, with many other airlines. The most common types of reduced rate travel are ID75 and ID90 space available travel. See Reduced Rate Chart.

The status of travel, eligibility requirements, dress code, company service requirements, number of, annual reduced-rate tickets, embargo periods, applicable fares and restrictions vary from carrier to carrier as specified by each agreement HA has entered into with each carrier.

Reduced-rate tickets are normally valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Because they are space available passes, you are not entitled to denied boarding compensation or any other amenities provided to revenue paying passengers (i.e., access to club lounges, pre-reserved seating, special meals, etc.).

Eligibility

Receiving free and reduced rate travel is governed both by the airline providing the transportation as well as HA’s policies. If you are in doubt concerning your eligibility for passes or reduced rate transportation on OA, discuss your status with your supervisor or the Pass Bureau.

( In general, full time employees with at least 3 months of continuous service and part-time employees with at least 6 months of continuous services are eligible for any Pass or Reduced Rate Ticket. All employees must meet the service requirements of the other carrier according to the interline agreement.
( HA employees while on a leave of absence are NOT eligible to travel on other carriers.(This includes their spouse/dependents and parents). You must be on an active status to request travel for other carriers.

Misuse or abuse of these requirements is a very serious matter and could result in HA’s loss of Pass Travel on other carriers, your loss of your Pass Travel on other airlines and/or HA, as well as individual disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Purchasing Travel On Other Airlines

You may purchase other airlines unlimited ID75, ID90 and service charge passes for domestic travel at any HA ATO/CTO or Interline Desk. The following are the eligibility requirements and stipulations necessary for purchase of reduced rate ticketing and passes on other airlines:

( Active employees must make the purchase. (No request form required.)
( Employee must present their valid HA ID at the time of purchase.
( Passes may be purchased for the employee, their spouse and eligible dependents.
( Purchases may be made with cash, check or credit card.
( Employees on a leave of absence are NOT eligible to travel on other airlines.

Below is a chart which shows those airlines with whom HA currently has self-ticketing agreements. This means that you can purchase your passes at the ATO/CTO. This list is subject to change at any time. Check with Pass Bureau or through Sabre for the latest information. Note: When traveling on OA, please ensure you check the specific airline listing and/or reservation requirements in N*TVLXX where "XX" represents the two letter airline code for the airline on which you intend to travel. You can find out the two-letter airline code by using Sabre format W/-AL(airline). For example, to find out the airline code for American Airlines you would type W/-ALAMERICAN then press the ENTER key.

Do not call a carrier directly for pass issuance, assistance in planning itineraries, change in itinerary, extension of validation date, or with questions regarding interline policies, or in any way tie up their employees who are there to service full-paying revenue passengers. Failure to comply will not only delay travel but may lead to loss of your travel benefits, and may adversely impact HA’s relationship with these other airlines.

You are responsible for working out your own travel plans. There are some resources you can use:

( The Official Airline Guide (OAG), travel brochures and interline magazines are available at Pass Bureau. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. OAG is also available online, for those who have access.
( Refer to Pass and Transportation on Other Carriers Chart for list of all carriers with which HA has reciprocal agreements.

Planning Your Travel

  1. Determine the routing and carrier for your trip. Check the OAG or Sabre for available airlines.
  2. Check the Reduced Rate Chart to see if HA has an interline agreement with the carrier, and to check their requirements, eligibility and charges for your travel.

After You Determine the Routing and Carrier

There are two types of interline agreements. Not Self Ticketing and Self Ticketing Agreements.

Requesting Procedure:

  1. Not Self Ticketing. Requests should be submitted three (3) weeks in advance or may not be processed in time. Complete Form A-13, attach your money order or cashier’s check, along with a self-addressed envelope, to Pass Bureau.
  2. Employees domiciled at the mainland stations can fax their request to the Pass Bureau. Your PNR will be stored in Sabre and the ATO agent can pull up your PNR by queue or pseudo flight (*1574/01JAN-LASTNAME). See Section 4 for ticket issuance and pickup hours.

Not Self Ticketing (Requested through Pass Bureau ONLY)

  1. Refer to Pass Chart to be certain eligibility requirements have been met.
  2. Complete form (HAL-A13) "Request For Pass or Reduced Rate Transportation." Request forms are available at all Departments, Stations and Pass Bureau.
  3. Attach a cashiers check or money order for proper amount of service charge along with a self-address-stamped envelope.
  4. Submit form to HA Pass Bureau. HA Pass Bureau will forward to the other carrier for processing.
  5. Not Self Ticketing request generally requires three (3) weeks for processing.
  6. Most Not Self Ticketing are non-refundable.
  7. Your pass will be mailed to you in the self-addressed, stamped envelope you provided.

Self-Ticketing (At any HA ATO/CTO)

For Active HA Employee/Spouse/Dependent Children ONLY

Requests may be ticketed at any HA ATO/CTO for Domestic Travel ONLY.

  1. For Unlimited, Unrestricted ID75/ID90/ID95’s and Passes for Domestic travel ONLY.
  2. Check Chart for list of carriers for which tickets may be purchased at any HA ATO/CTO.
  3. No forms are required.
  4. The employee must purchase and present HA ID to the agent.
  5. Specify the airlines and complete routing you are requiring, including any stopovers and or connection cities.
  6. Provide full, legal names of persons traveling. Employee STAR in SABRE must list employee and family members (N*Emp#). If the employee and family members are not listed in the employee STAR, tickets will not be issued. (Employee will need to contact Pass Bureau to update the STAR.).
  7. Provide your form of payment to the agent. Checks and Credit Cards must be in the employees name

For Active HA Employee/Spouse/Dependent Children/Retirees and Parents ONLY

Requests through HA Pass Bureau for ALL Domestic/International Travel

  1. Available for Unlimited Unrestricted/Restricted ID75/ID90/ID95s and Passes for DOMESTIC or INTERNATIONAL travel.
  2. Complete form (HAL A-13) "Request For Pass or Reduced Rate Transportation. Request forms are available at all Departments, Stations and Pass Bureau.
  3. Indicate on the request form the date by which you need the tickets. Tickets can be processed within two (2) working days.
  4. Indicate where you want to pick up or have the tickets to:
    1. Co-mailed to your department (give department name and location number);
    2. Tickets mailed to you (self-address-stamped envelope must be provided with request);
    3. Will Call (Third floor, Koapaka Street receptionist—minimum two day to process); OR HA CTO/ATO (state exact ATO/CTO location).

  5. Tickets must be purchased within ten (10) working days at the ATO/CTO specified. Tickets not issued within the ten (10) day period will automatically be canceled and a new request must be resubmitted.
