RETIREE TRAVEL


( Permanent full-time employees who retire from active employment and are entitled to receive a monthly pension payment (based on age and/or services requirements) if the retirement plans were not frozen, shall be eligible for Retiree Pass Travel.
( Permanent part-time IAM, TWU, Communication and Salaried employees who transfer to full-time status, work a minimum of one (1) year, and meet the requirements outlined above shall be eligible for Retiree Pass Travel.

If you are represented by a collective bargaining unit, see your respective CBAs for clarification on your retirement policy.

IAM Normal Retiree, IAM Rule of 85 & 90 Retiree; IAM Early Retiree & all other Retirees, their spouse and Eligible Dependents up to age 21 are eligible to travel on a Once A Year Pass at the Retiree’s seniority date within the Pass Classification. Complete Form HAL A48, Retiree Once A Year Pass, and submit it to Pass Bureau.

IAM Normal Retirees are also eligible for a 2nd Pass at their seniority date. On this second Pass, the Retiree must travel with their spouse and/or Eligible Dependents up to age 21. FTPs are not eligible to travel at the Retiree’s seniority date for the 2nd Pass. Complete Form HAL A49, Retiree 2nd Pass, and submit it to Pass Bureau.

When making a Meal Listing, the Retiree is responsible for informing the reservations agent of the proper boarding priority. Station agents will reconfirm the proper boarding priority when checking in for Transpacific/South Pacific travel and assign the proper boarding priority when checking in for interisland travel. Boarding Priority is determined by date of hire within the Pass Travel Classification.

Retirees traveling on an EasyWrite Pass will be required to pay any applicable international taxes and/or fees at the time of checkin.

1 IAM Normal Retiree: An employee who retired at age 65 (or over) with a minimum of 30 years of service.
2 FTPs may not travel at the same priority as Retiree for the 2nd Pass.
3 IAM Rule 85/90: An employee who retired at age 55 (or over) with a minimum of 30 years of service.
4 IAM "Early" Retiree: An employee who retired at age 55 (or over) with less than 30 years of service.
5 All Other Retirees: Includes employees who retired as members of all other labor groups, and non-contract.
