Ticketing & Service Charge Requirements

A.   Children Under Two Years of Age

Children under two years of age do not require a ticket for travel within or between the 50 U.S. states, U.S. territories and possessions, or between the U.S. and Canada. The airport agent will issue an INFANT PASS at time of check-in. If you want your infant to occupy a seat, a ticket must be issued in your child’s name and the standard service charges (if international travel) will apply.

If you travel on HA to any destination outside the areas listed above, children under two years of age are required to have an EasyWrite Pass, even if they do not occupy a seat. The EasyWrite Pass must have "INFANT" written in large letters across it. A passport may be required for children for international destinations. See [F*PSM/DOCS/INTL] in FOCUS or contact your local immigration office for more detail.

There is no charge for one child under two years of age traveling as a lap child with one pass traveler. If more than one child under two years is accompanying one pass traveler, a ticket or pass which allows them to occupy a seat is required for each additional child and the standard service charges (if international) will apply.
